Next morning. Gabriel finally responds to Chandice who have been calling him all night and sending him text messages to explain what happened.
Gabriel: Chandice, good morning
Chandice (crying): Sweetie, please come home, I didn't do anything, please
Gabriel (thinks for a moment and responds): Chandice, I have to think... put yourself in my shoes… (pauses) I will have to call you back later (Drops the call)
Chandice, confused and bitter, calls Ethan, her husband's secretary
Ethan: Hey Chandice, how are you doing?
Chandice: I'm ok, please I need your help
Ethan (feigning ignorance): How can I be of help? I hope you are ok
Chandice: Yes, I'm fine, please is Gabriel in the office?
Ethan: No, in fact I thought you are calling to inform me perhaps he's sick or something
Chandice: Oh no, thanks all the same
Ethan: Chandice, is everything alright?
Chandice: Yeah, don't worry there's just a mix-up somewhere... thanks for your concern
Ethan (with a little grin): Ok, remember you can confide in me if you want
Chandice: Thank you, have a nice day (Ends the call)
Moments later.
Chandice tries once again to call Gabriel when she hears a knock at the door. Chandice runs to the door hoping to see Gabriel and it is so. Gabriel comes in and locks the door while Chandice watches him in fear. They stare at each other for some seconds and finally Gabriel breaks the silence.
Gabriel: Please sit down... (Chandice sits and he waits for some minutes staring at her and finally sits too).
For the sake of our love, tell me the truth and nothing else but the truth
Chandice (teary eyes): Ok, it started some few days ago...
Gabriel listens to Chandice attentively and after she tells her own side of the story, Gabriel holds her hand
Gabriel: Chandice, are you telling me the whole truth?
Chandice (sobbing): Yes sweetie, it's the whole truth; I don't know why Amber chose to treat me this way... I never wronged her in any way all these years to deserve this
Gabriel hugs Chandice who is still crying and consoles her
Gabriel (kisses her forehead): We will get through this, ok?
Chandice (nods in agreement): Thank you
Gabriel (stares at her face): You are my wife, if you choose to lie to me this time, then it's your loss not mine. I have no choice than to believe you... (kneels down). Please don't deceive me.
Chandice: No, I can't please.... I am saying the truth
Gabriel (gets up): Alright, thank you for telling me the truth... we will surely get through this, ok?
Chandice: Alright, I love you so much
Gabriel (smiles): Come here, (hugs Chandice tightly) I love you too and I've missed you so much…
Later in the evening. Ethan calls Chandice to know what's going on and Gabriel responds
Ethan: Chandice, are you there?
Gabriel: Hey Ethan?
Ethan (surprised): Oh, hey boss, I was calling to know if you are ok sir... Chandice called me to confirm your whereabouts which...
Gabriel (interrupts): Don't worry Ethan, thanks for calling back. I won't be coming tomorrow either. If there be any need to look into something tomorrow, just call me, ok?
Ethan (nervous and angry): Ok sir, my regards to your wife.
Gabriel: Thank you for your concern and have a nice evening
Call ends
Chandice (who is now awake): Who was that?
Gabriel: Ethan, my Secretary
Chandice: I'm sorry but I called to know if you were present
Gabriel: It's ok
Ethan (sighs in anger): And this useless Reggie thinks she can get away with this!!! I will deal with you and this Gabriel once and for all even if it costs me my life… rubbish!
The next day, Gabriel decides to call on Father
Father: Hey Gabriel, how are you now?
Gabriel (confused): I don't know sir... she still maintained what I saw wasn't what it is ... I'm totally confused now
Father: Be patient, remember this is a delicate matter and whatever happens from here depends mostly on how you handle it now.
Tell me, do you trust her?
Gabriel: And what about what I saw sir? This is beyond me
Father: Gabriel... do you love her enough to distrust your eyes and what they saw?
Gabriel: I can't answer
Father: Do you want to resolve this issue?
Gabriel (frustrated): Sir, you know that too
Father: Are you sure you want to go on with our plan?
Gabriel: Yes sir
Father: Alright then, when everything is set let me know
Gabriel: Alright sir, please pray for us
Father: Just take things easy and be patient with her ok?
Gabriel: Ok sir, thank you for your counsel
